The literal meaning of the word Nrityanjali is Salutation to dance. In keeping with this lofty ideal, Nrityanjali was started as an institution for imparting skills in the classical form of Bharata Natyam in all its purity and perfection that one associated with worship or salutation to the almighty.
just as perfection and purity of mind determine one’s devotion in worship, these attributes, together with the disciplined and graceful movements of the body, produce the skill in Bharata Natyam. Nrityanjali, therefore, made its mission to train the body as well as the mind to produce dedicated dancers and good human being out of young and impressionable girls.
